Dear Radiant Soul,
I used to cringe when people said, “trust the process.” Honestly, it was because I was smack in the middle of a phase that felt heavy and uncomfortable. Growth didn’t look or feel glamorous; it felt like loss.
At the time, I wanted to have it all—time with friends, space for self-discovery, and room for my personal “glow-up.” But the truth is, we can’t grow while holding onto everything at once.
Growth requires space.
Space requires release.
And release always comes at a cost.
If you’re in a season where trusting the process feels impossible, I understand. But here’s what I now know: the process is not your punishment; it’s your preparation.
Why You Need the Process
The process isn’t here to frustrate you or rob you of joy—it’s here to help you grow into the person you’re meant to be. As John 15:2 says, “He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.”
Think about that: even the parts of you that are working—the ones bearing fruit—will still need pruning. Why? Because growth isn’t about being comfortable; it’s about becoming fruitful. The dead branches—the habits, relationships, and beliefs that no longer serve you—must be cut away. And even the fruitful areas of your life need shaping and refining so they can flourish.
This is why the process feels uncomfortable. It’s stripping away what’s not working and strengthening what is.
From Believing to Knowing
Belief is a powerful starting point. It motivates you to pursue the dream, take the risk, and step into the unknown. But belief alone won’t carry you.
Belief says, “I think this is who I am.” Knowing says, “I’ve lived it, and I can confidently say this is who I am.”
The process is what moves you from belief to knowing. It’s the bridge between saying, “I think I can become this person,” and stepping into the fullness of that identity.
Take my relationship with God, for example. For years, I believed in God. But it wasn’t until I walked through some of life’s hardest seasons—when I surrendered and made space for solitude—that I began to know Him.
I saw God show up in ways only He could: a random act of kindness, supernatural provision, or the slow transformation of my heart and mindset. It wasn’t just belief anymore—it was me knowing that God is real and Is always with me.
The same applies to you.
The process isn’t designed to break you; it’s designed to build you.
Practical Ways to Trust the Process
Trusting the process doesn’t mean passively waiting for life to happen. It means leaning into the work and embracing tools that help you navigate the journey. Here are some practical ways to move forward:
Release What No Longer Serves You
Reflect on what’s holding you back. Are there habits, relationships, or commitments that drain your energy and don’t align with who you’re becoming? Release them. Letting go isn’t loss; it’s preparation for something greater.
Lean Into Community
Growth is challenging, but it doesn’t have to be lonely. Surround yourself with people who understand and support your journey.
Prioritize Self-Awareness
Journaling is a powerful tool for reflection and clarity. The Growing in Self-Awareness Workbook helps you uncover the thoughts, emotions, and patterns that shape your life, giving you the insight needed to make aligned decisions.
Create Space for Solitude
In the quiet moments, you’ll find clarity, peace, and divine guidance. Solitude isn’t loneliness; it’s where self-awareness blooms, and where you truly begin to hear from God.
Commit to Mindfulness
Mindfulness is a practice of presence—of fully experiencing the moment instead of living in the past or worrying about the future. My Growth Conversations offer personalized tools to help you cultivate peace and purpose in your daily life.
Embracing the Power of Transformation
The process requires pruning, but it also produces abundance.
You may not see the results immediately, but trust that every step forward is preparing you for the life you desire.
Final Thoughts
The process may feel heavy, but it’s not your enemy—it’s your ally.
It’s the bridge between who you are now and who you’re meant to become.
Trust it. Embrace it. And remember, God is the gardener, pruning and shaping you for fruitfulness. Everything you desire is on the other side of trusting and embracing the process.
