In This Light, I Am Free: A Poem for Emotional Healing and Release

Greetings, Radiant Soul -
Some words aren’t meant to be read.
They’re meant to be felt.
This poem was never meant to sit on a page.
It was created for a sacred moment—written just five days before the event, specifically for the Full Moon Meditation experience at Lake Perris on April 12th, 2025.
It took me 5 minutes to write it and with each line, I felt something shifting within me....so I did what felt right.
I memorized it—not because I had to, but because I wanted to carry every word in my body.

This wasn’t just a performance.
It was a spiritual offering.
Under the light of the Pink Moon, on the holy day of Passover, I stood in stillness and released this poem into the world for the first time.
The event, hosted by Reaffirm and Renew + Che’s Way Fitness, invited deep healing through meditation, movement, and community. In the middle of it all, I stood by the water and spoke what had been living in my spirit.
The poem I shared—“In This Light. I Am Free.”—is a reflection of what it means to be honest about your pain, to surrender your strength, and to let softness bloom again.
✨This one is for the quiet healers.
✨The strong ones who’ve been carrying too much.
✨The ones who need permission to finally release.
Let this moment be yours. Enjoy.
In This Light. I Am Free.
Trust Me – I get it.
Lately, the days have felt short.
Nights, long.
And you’ve been holding in pain
just so that you can appear to be strong?
If people only knew
What you’ve been going through—
Then maybe, you’d have the courage to see it through.
The anxiety.
Stress.
Fear.
Defeat.
Got you in these streets
Feeling real heavy and weak.
But—ain’t nobody got time for that
So let’s shift!
From pain—
to relief.
From being the one who carries it all—
to trust and release.
As we sit under this soon-to-be night’s sky,
I think it’s time for us all to recognize and cut ties with
everything that makes you feel empty.
Incomplete.
Anything other than full.
Don’t you know God made you to reign and to rule?
You can do all things through Christ!…
And guess what—
You ain’t even got to be strong!
Just willing to…
Release the pain.
Surrender the fear.
Let go of the worry and remember this, my dear:
There is greatness on the inside of you,
With a light soooo bright that:
Joy
Peace and
Love is your natural birthright.
Embrace it.
Here (in your heart),
And here (in your mind).
Because—
despite your flaws
despite what you’ve been through
despite the pain you may be carrying right now
in this very moment
You are loved.
You are seen.
You are valued.
You are worthy of it all.
So do me this favor:
Don’t hold in your pain.
Instead—
Let what’s blooming in you be louder than what broke you.
Let the soft places rise again and call that...
Strength.
❤️
